| Got it today, played the intro and the training level. It is...
AWESOME
The only way it could be better would be if you could customise an online dude instead of having to pick from set models. That aside it really is looking to be one of the best games I've ever played. The animation, music, script, landscape, sense of place and era... The list goes on. It is WICKED.

| i'm glad somebody else is actually finding Alan wake scarey. with surround sound on, the lights off and all those shadows boucing around (not the band from the 60's) it is a genuine hairs on the back of your neck goosebump experience. I know a lot has been said in the press about a low resolution, but a) it's certainly pretty and b) it looks like they've used the all the processing power on getting every shadow from every object. perfect. there's several scripted bumps, but i've managed to give myself a coronary over a shadow of a tree outside a window cast a shape like a person looking in the house i was in. i spent 5 minutes creeping round the house trying to find the non-existent bad guy. Don't expect twin peaks or stephen king or kubick, but, more like half a series of supernatural. good telly, but not oscar material. The Previouslys on alan wake are excellent starts to each "chapter". Gameplay wise, other than a few bits that hark back to the eons, like having to play through on normal, then hard, then nightmare. I don't wanna i want to get through once, with the hardest setting on so i can gets all my G. So far, it's excellent, probably a renter because i can't see too much replay value past the extra episode coming soon. Oh and the box set version is probably the best box set i've seen. 2 cd cases and a hardback book in a case shaped like an other hardback book. | |

| Yea it's good when your sat in the dark with surround sound on (John sorry I'll turn it down lol) and i also have had a few moments off filling my pants. I also love the end of chapter idea it gives you a chance to make a brew or turn all the lights on before you creep up to bed I found it very scary when you can see a light and you start running towards it then you catch a TAKEN in the corner of you eye the trees and enviroment start to change and you just make it into the light...... Def a good scary game. Rent is Prob better due to the single player only gameplay. | |

| I think I'm getting to the end of the Mexico bit. I'm trying not to rush through it as I'm enjoying it so much but all of my stranger / ambient challenges are now in the top right bit of the map that is still locked. I enjoyed the Mexican storyline waaaaaaaaaaaay more than the goofy Western A-Team style story, if I actually were John Marston I'd have ventilated Irish, Seth and Nigel Flappy-Bumbag within five minutes of meeting with them and taken the required equipment... The missions were fun but it was slightly unbelievable the way that Marston tolerated them. Meh. | |

| I'm still barely into it, been spending too much time with Diablo 2!
Last mission I did was in some gully, pretty early on. Taking out two brothers I think?
I've learned how to herd cattle and tame horses etc.
To be honest I've quite enjoyed just riding around and doing rather well at poker!
